I have experience and additional training in working with issues around gender and/or sexual identity, particularly for children and adolescents.

Support for Parents and Carers

As I am additionally qualified as a child and adolescent psychotherapist, I have extensive experience in supporting parents who are struggling in their relationship with their child.

The pain and frustration of not being able to have the relationship we wish for can be very challenging. This support is less about short term ‘quick fix’ parenting strategies, but more about exploring how our relationships with our children can be coloured by our own experiences of having been parented as a child.

When we can work through and process these experiences, we can make different choices in how we parent our children. This can lead to deeper, longer lasting change and a richer, more fulfilling parent-child relationship.

I am trained as a Mentalization Based Family Treatment Practitioner and so can offer work for you as a family. This model is short term (6-12 sessions) and was developed by the Anna Freud Centre. It involves a mix of discussions and games to help a family to better understand each other and communicate.

ONLINE SERVICES:

I use the zoom platform and am happy to explore working online for those whom working face to face at my practice in South Cambridgeshire is not possible.

HERE FOR YOU:

In my practice I seek to offer a space that feels free of social discrimination based upon one's race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, ability, age, class, education. My hope is that this becomes a place where you feel safe enough to explore these areas in your life and in our relationship.
